Boundaries between languages very often correlate with tribal divisions—for example, Apatani and Nyishi are tribally and linguistically distinct among each other and are vastly spoken in the state.

The state’s bird, flower, animal and tree are – Hornbill, Foxtail Orchid, Gayal and Hollong respectively.
